Phoua took special care of Koji when he was a baby just like her own. When I went to her house to pick him up, she had already bathed and fed him. She‘s always called him ”my baby Kozie” even long after he grew so tall to tower her over. She was so happy that this half-Japanese baby understood Hmong.

I sure will miss her contagious laughter that brightened up my day.
